Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Henrietta Ribbens of Sioux Center, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 93, on September 27, 2021. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Miedema and Jennie Miedema (Bleyenberg); her sister Frieda Bierma of Grand Rapids, MI; her aunt Henny; her stepchildren, Henrietta, Wayne (Barbi Ribbens), Bruce (Carol Ribbens), Karl (Pat Ribbens), Tim (Linda Ribbens), Cindy (Arlan Nederhoff) and Rob (Holly Ribbens); her husband Doug; her siblings, Henry Miedema (Jeanette), Ida Van Donge (Rich), Theresa Cleveringa (Nelson) and Dorothy Kleene (LeRoy); and her brother-in-law Bill Bierma.

To honor Henrietta's role in touching so many lives during her years at Dordt – every student had numerous interactions with Henrietta during their time at Dordt – memorials may be given to the Douglas & Henrietta Ribbens Education Scholarship at Dordt University.
