He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Vermeer and Agnes Vermeer (Vander Aarde); his wife Mildred Gort; and his siblings, Lloyd Vermeer, Angie Cox and Tracy Rhodes.
He is survived by: his sons, Brad Vermeer (Glenda) of Sioux Center, IA, Lyle Vermeer (Joyce) of Sioux Center, IA and Lance Vermeer (Carol Yacko) of Hawarden, IA; and his sister Ruth Van Zee of Artesia, CA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
The Family prefers memorials be directed to the Doornink-Brunsting American Legion Post # 199 of Sioux Center.
