He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Bleeker and Jennie Bleeker (Herwyer); and his wife Mary Ellen. He is survived by: his children, Jeremiah Bleeker (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Bleeker of Sioux Falls, SD and Rachel Bleeker of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Riley James, Thomas James, Jocelyn Claire Marie Bleeker and Malachi James Bleeker-Owell; and his siblings, Henrietta Scholten (David) of Sioux City, IA and Carl Bleeker (Paula) of New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Doornink-Brunsting Post 199, American Legion of Sioux Center.
