He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hopper and Flossie Hopper (McBain); his wife Alma Jean; his daughter Kathy Swanson; his stepson Dave Schouten; and his siblings, Ernest Jr., Gertrude, Ruby, Katherine, Raymond and Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Hopper, Marlon Hopper (Mary Jo) and Kimberly Gotmer (Paul); and his stepchildren, Deb VanderWeide (Larry), Sally Koel (Dick), Paul Schouten and Kathy Van Beek (Rod). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
