It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene L. Van Roekel (Sioux Center, Iowa), born in Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on November 25, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Stallbaum and Mary Stallbaum (Sherman); her parents-in-law, Elmer and Gertrude Van Roekel; her sisters, Loraine Stallbaum and Phyllis Van Peursem; and her nephew Michael Van Peursem.
She is survived by: her children, Paulette Romano (Giovanni), Steve Van Roekel (Melanie), Shari Boone (Gregg), Martin Van Roekel (Marianne) and Julie Krogman; her grandchildren, Mary, Anna Maassen, Taylor, Garrett Van Roekel, Cameron, Kendall, Caden Grund, Tyler, Kiley, Myles Boone (Sara), Magdalene, Jonah, Hannah, Eli Van Roekel, Brody (Phil) and Madeline Krogman; her great grandchildren, Rylan and Haden Boone; her sister Marjorie Reid (Dick); and her brother-in-law Pete Van Peursem.
