He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Rus and Fanny Rus (Zomer); his wife Katherine; his son Willie; his daughter-in-law Sharon Rus; his grandsons, Trevor and Jamie Rus; his great grandchild Sophie Rus; and his siblings, Josie Van Roekel (Jake) and George Rus (Jennie).
He is survived by: his children, Frank, Linda Rus of Grand Rapids, Joel, Fran Rus of Hudsonville, Jerry, Londa Rus of Sioux Center, Marion, Judy Rus of Greenville, Gloria Buus of Harrisburg, Mel, Brenda Rus of Zeeland, Harlan, Carla Rus of Sioux Center, Virgil, Mary Rus of West Olive, Howard, Janelle Rus of Sioux Center, Harold, Lynda Rus of Sioux Center and Edwin Rus of Waterloo, Iowa; and his brother Marvin Rus (Clazina) of Sioux Center. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
