He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shannon and Clara Shannon (Gries); his wife Rose Mary; his sons, Tim and Jeff Shannon; and his brother Francis Shannon.
He is survived by: his sons, Rik Shannon (Carol) of Des Moines, Terry Shannon (Susan) of Kansas City and Randy Shannon (Karen) of Glenrock. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
