He was predeceased by: his parent Jean Kauffman (Christner); his wife Mary Ann Durian; and his siblings, James Kauffman, Jan Miller and Jeff Kauffman.
He is survived by: his father Jacob Kauffman of Wellman; his son Shawn Kauffman (Brooke) of Coralville; and his siblings, Joyce Baron (Rick) of Sahuarita, AZ, John Kauffman of Wellman, Julia Jantzi (Phil) of Salisbury, PA, Joannie Firkins (Jeff) of Iowa City and Jorge Kauffman (Jenny) of Lancaster, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations go to the Kalona Fire Department.
