He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Prell (Buck) and Claudine Prell (Conner). He is survived by: his wife Lila Fowler; his daughters, Malisa Throckmorton (Rod) of Albia and Jody Prell (Larry Robertson) of Sigourney; his grandchildren, Isaac, Maizy Cowman, Marin and Wyatt Throckmorton; his sister Dorris Gerard of Marion; and his son-in-law Scott Cowman.
