He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Reed and Eula E. Reed (Butts); his wife Betty Glasgow; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Falk, Bill Hayter, Walter Glasgow (Bud) and Judy Glasgow.
He is survived by: his sons, Galen Dean Reed of Sidney and Kerry Eugene Reed of Sidney; his grandson Justin Reed; his sister-in-law Peggy Hayter of Corning, IA; his nieces, Candy Norris (Brett), Lori Sturm (Tony), Paula Brackney and Dawn Brown (Brian); and also Chrissy Farnsworth of Sidney. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Fund has been established The Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA is in charge of arrangements.
