It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Paul D. Carter of Sidney, Iowa, who passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Paul departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Paul. Though Paul may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Delmas Carter and Edna Aretta Carter (Booton); his wife Marice Carter (Shanahan); and his sister Phyllis. He is survived by: his children, Denise Claiborne (Kent), Paul Carter, Jr. (Winnie), Lisa McRae (Kevin) and Todd Carter (Patric Jackson); his niece Linda Walker; and his nephew Robert Young, Jr. of Florida.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sidney Chapel (500 S Main St, Sidney, IA 51652). Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nishna Valley Funeral Home - Sidney (500 S Main St, Sidney, IA 51652). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Sidney Cemetery.
