She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Jessie Shanahan and Florence Katherine Shanahan (Kortman). She is survived by: her husband Paul Delmas Carter of Kansas City, MO; her sister Carolyn Ostergaard of Des Moines, IA; and her children, Denise Claiborne (Kent) of Hamburg, IA, Paul Carter, Jr. (Winnie) of Palm Harbor, FL, Lisa McRae (Kevin) and Todd Carter (Patric Jackson) of Kansas City. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Memorials will go to St. Mary's Catholic church in Hamburg, IA.
