She was predeceased by: her children, Adrian Jr. and Adrianna; her daughter-in-law Jill Vander Plaats; her great great grandchild Raiden; and her brothers-in-law, Virgil Carstensen and Arlyn Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, David Vander Plaats of Ashton, IA, Donald Vander Plaats (Laurie) of Hull, IA, Douglas Vander Plaats of George, IA, Carol (David Vos) of Melbourne Beach, FL, Delbert Vander Plaats (Gayle) of Boyden, IA and Bruce Vander Plaats (Diane) of Wellington, TX; and her sisters, Norma Jean Carstensen of Jasper, MN, Marlys (Wayne Beatty) of Marshall, MN, Marilyn (James Waite) of Pipestone, MN, Lois Schmidt of Sioux Falls, SD and Lorraine (Roland Hanson) of Centerville, SD. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sibley Trinity Lutheran Church Mission Fund, "Reaching the Unreached".
