He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Wheeler and Caroline Wheeler (Timmermann); and his stepson Mike Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Verla; his children, Janece Nissen (Ikejon) of Berthoud, CO. and Dana Wheeler (Melea) of Gilbert, AZ; his grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, Brett, Abi Verdugo (Josh), Lucas and Sophia; and his stepsons, Ron Schmidt of Cass Lake, MN. and Brad Schmidt of Minneapolis, MN..
