She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Houwen and Irene Houwen (Sleutel); her spouse Merlin Leroy Tjaden; and her son Ron. She is survived by: her children, Dan Tjaden (Terri), Ken "Bubba" Tjaden (Sharalyn), Janet Johnson (Scott), Daryl Tjaden (Sharon) and Bob Tjaden (Stephanie). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley (505 9th St, Sibley, IA 51249). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church (708 8th St, Sibley, IA 51249).
