He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Jansen and Darlene Jansen (Meyer); his brother Lester Jansen; and his aunts and uncles, Violet Klaas (Elroy), Merlin "Butch" Jansen (Lou Ann), Jim Meehan, Tony Meyer (Shirley), Pearl Meyers (Don) and Evelyn Wurst (Harold).
He is survived by: his sister Nancy Merges (Ed) of Sherrill, IA; his niece Emily Mergesand (Kenny Arnold); his nephew Michael Merges (Caitlyn Fields); his great-nieces, Josie and Maggie Cook; his caregiver Tabby Lyons; his grandson Caden Lyons; his aunts, Dee Bierie (Dave) and ILand Ellen Meehan of Roseville, CA; his pet Simba; and also Duane Kutsch.
