She is survived by: her children, Philip "Phil" Birkel (Punkie) of Sherrill, Dennis Birkel (Diane) of Sherrill, Nancy Decker (Jim) of Sherrill, Amy Lahey (Tim) of Sherrill and Scot Birkel of Sherrill; her grandchildren, Corey Birkel (Kelly), Andrea Kluesner (Keith), Travis Birkel (Kimmie), Amelia Schwers (Kevin), Tammi Weimerskirch (Trent), Nicholas Birkel (Kristi), Aaron Decker, Evan Decker, Drew Lahey, Ben Lahey, Claire Lahey and Ty Lahey; her great grandchildren, Aubrey, Aleese, Amiya Birkel, Bodie, Kogan, Ahsha, Ahnya Kluesner, Allie, Max Birkel, Kelen, Araya, Kroy Schwers, Emma, Jack Breitbach, Natalie, Caleb, Carson, Connor Birkel, Waylon and Cash Weimerskirch; and her brother Richie Schmitt (Deb) of Manchester, IA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
