He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Pontious and June Pontious (Priest); and his sister Phyllis Jordon (Blacky). He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; and his siblings, Rex Pontious (Deloris), Aggie Bryant (Charlie) and Linda Pontious. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Shenandoah Veterans Museum.
