He is survived by: his son Tim Garoutte (Jennifer) of Columbia, TN; his significant other Nancy Wright-Clapson of Quebec; his daughters, Lori Kennedy (Ed) of Indianola and Jennifer Adams (Jason) of Newton; his stepchildren, Mike Bruns (CariAnn) of Cedar Rapids and Jon Bruns of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Thomas Garoutte and Margaret Garoutte; his wife Vickie Garoutte; his brother Patrick Garoutte; his daughter Karen Coates; and his stepdaughter Ellen Prochaska.
SHELLSBURG: ?Daniel Dean "Grubby" Garoutte, 75, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. ?Graveside Military Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg with military rites conducted by the Ray and Virginia Boyer American Legion Post # 166 and Iowa Military Funeral Honors. ?In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Shellsburg American Legion Post #166.
