He is survived by: his mother Lois Dreier Ackerman of Dysart; his wife Ann Spaulding of Shell Rock; his stepson Chris Gerke of Rake; and his siblings, Joyce Ackerman (Tim Wiederin) of Dysart and Victor Ackerman of Waterloo. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
