He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Reekers and Martha Reekers (Nagel); his former wife Maybelle Renken; his daughter Maxine; and his brothers, George and Art Reekers (Angie).
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Reekers (Hickey); his children, Mike Reekers (Rhonda) of Spirit Lake and Katie Eckard (Jesse); his granddaughter Jada; his stepson Rick Kennedy (Peggy) of Mechanicsville; his stepgrandchildren, Stacy Vaughn (Brian), Joshua Kennedy (Angela), Spencer Kennedy (Brittany) of Mechanicsville and Virginia; his stepdaughter Kathy DeGroot (Ken) of Council Bluffs; his stepgranddaughter Teresa List (Brian); his stepdaughter Connie West (Gary) of Mooresville; his stepgranddaughter Amanda Gauthier (Noel); his sisters-in-law, Margaret Reekers of Sheldon, Arlene Lang of LeMars and Pat Raynor (Ron) of Dakota City, Nebraska.; and also, Megan of Marengo, Carter, Gavin, Wyatt of Omaha, Matthew DeGroot (Patrick Gomez) of Los Angeles, Finn, Fiona, Frances of Cincinnati and Ashley West of Winston Salem. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
