With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marion J Groot of Sheldon, Iowa, born in Sanborn, Iowa, who passed away on July 16, 2021 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Groot and Maria Groot (DenBeste); his wife Laura; his parents-in-law, Fletcher and Cecile King; and his siblings, Dorothy Vanderburg, Katherine Mouw and Henry Groot.
He is survived by: his grandchild Belgium; his daughter Trudy (Ken) of Springfield, MO; his granddaughters, Heidi (Jeff Gilboy) and Heather (Sean McGee); his great grandchildren, Malaika (Samid Penn) of Wheaton, IL, Abigail Gilboy of St. Paul, MN, Laura, Aiden, Ivy, Karis, Arielle, Owen Gilboy of Aurora, CO, Kian and Bryn McGee of Georgetown, TX; and his sister-in-law Jean King of Sioux City, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
