He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond T. Ahlers and Rose Ahlers (Auchstetter); his in-laws, Carl and Hedwig Wolbers; his brothers, Leonard Ahlers, Dennis Ahlers (Connie) and Norbert Ahlers (Lois); and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Wolbers (Marge), George Wolbers (Delores) and Lois Hewitt.
He is survived by: his wife Coleen Wolbers of Sheldon; his children, Ron Ahlers (Cindy) of Spencer, IA, Janet Seivert (Ken) of Sheldon, IA, Tom Ahlers (Linda) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jacqueline Ahlers of Minneapolis, MN, Roger Ahlers (Julie) of Hastings, NE, Mike Ahlers (Paula) of Sheldon, IA and Sherise Ahlers of Urbandale, IA; his sister Joann Geurink of Alton, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Ahlers of Aurora, CO, Inez Ahlers of Hemet, CA, Marlene Gross (Lowell "Spike") of Fremont, NE and Margaret Morse of Treasure Island, FL. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5½ great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
