He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Doorenbos and Elsie Doorenbos (Schafer); his wives, Pearl Bowen and Maggie (Maggie); his son-in-law Gary Vos; his stepson Jeff Meyer; and his siblings, Lester, Doug Doorenbos, Lois Kuiper and Beverly Kruger.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Vos of Sheldon, Iowa, Kevin Doorenbos of Sheldon and Illadene Renken (Randy) of Sheldon; his stepchildren, Larry Meyer of Oakdale, Pennsylvania, Linda Wissink (Roger) of Orange City, Iowa, Eve Swanson of Iowa City, Iowa and Suzette Vonk (Bruce) of Sioux Center, Iowa; his daughter-in-law Sheila Meyer of Altoona, Iowa; and his brothers, Glenn Doorenbos of Sibley and Donald Doorenbos of Boyden. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home - Sheldon (724 6th Ave, Sheldon, IA 51201). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location.
