She is survived by: her friend Spencer; her husband Bill; her daughter Christine "Chris" Tostenrud; her son-in-law Gene Montgomery of Everly, IA.; her granddaughter Hannah Lawson (Chris Lawson); her great grandchildren, Colt of Algona, IA. and Henry Lawson of Algona, IA.; her grandson Carter Tostenrud (Chelsey); and her great grandchildren, Grayson of Dickinson, ND. and Everly Tostenrud of Dickinson, ND..
Jannis was a passionate seamstress and helped to organize a sewing group at Zion Reformed Church that created and donated items for preemie babies, cancer patients and various personnel comfort items for those in medical need.
