He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Smit of Sheffield; his children, David Smit (Mary) of Sheffield and Sandy Tull (Terry) of Sheffield; his grandchildren, Crystal Foell (Jeremy), Derek Smit (Selena Sjostrand), Ryan Smit (Whitnee) and Matthew Tull; his great grandchildren, Abigail and Caleb Foell; his siblings, Duane Smit, Elaine Lubkeman (Don), Mavis Meyer (Gordon) and Diane Hughes (Ted); and his sisters-in-law, Laurie Smit, Pat Smit and Sharon Smit. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
