He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross E. Hoffman and Cordelia Hoffman (Davenport); his siblings, Dale Hoffman and Bernadine Jones; and his grandson Nathan Hoffman.
He is survived by: his wife Althea Bessie Means of Spurgeon Manor; his son Timothy Hoffman (Elaine) of Adel; his brother Jerry Hoffman (Ella Jean) of Urbandale; his grandchildren, Kerry Ausmus (Tom) and Kathryn Hoffman; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin and Samuel Ausmus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shannon City Methodist Church, the American Legion of Creston, or Spurgeon Manor of Dallas Center.
