He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schaffner and Letha Schaffner (Whitlock); and his siblings, Louis William, Louis Vincent, Horace, Clarence Schaffner, Letha Lawson and Lillie Belle Wyldes.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Banks; his children, Robert Mark, Diane Elizabeth (Richard), Cindy Cooper (David), Rob Schaffner (Tina) and Brad Schaffner (Michelle); his grandchildren, Jennifer Trimble (Jake), Paige Myers (Brian), Joslyn, Robert (Mitchell), Nickolas, MaKenna Schaffner, Amanda Liu (Nicholas), Emily Buller (Ryan), Trenton McClain (ShelBee) and Sydney Beeler (Daniel); and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Jade, Jami, Jaci Trimble, Alyssa, Hadley Myers, Adalynn Liu, Baylin and Grainley Beeler. He is also survived by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
