He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon M. Shaffer and Mable Edith Shaffer (Leslie); and his siblings, Virginia, Leon and Kay.
He is survived by: his children, Donald L. Shaffer (Debra) of Columbia, IL, Donna Ruth Ritson (James) of Columbia, IL and Diana Lynn Richardson (Mark) of Searsboro, IA; and his siblings, Joe Shaffer (Gail) of Surprise, AZ, Dana Comte (Roy) of Columbia, IL and Sharon Baker (Collins) of Dallas, TX.. He is also survived by Eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
