He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Hart of Lanesboro; his wife Darlene Clark (Schleisman); his daughter Vicki Zeigler (Mark); and his grandson Ryan Peterson. He is survived by: his granddaughter Corrin Perry (Hale); his children, Gary Heck (Barb) of Urbandale, Deborah Young of Carroll and Becky Hale (Kevin) of Spirit Lake; his grandchildren, Shawn (Andrea), Joshua (Kristen), Travis Zeigler (Samantha), Danielle Rapkin (David), Dave Heck (Katie), Mackensey Snyder-Erickson (Seth), Jordan Hale-Mason (Paul) and Kiley Hale; his great grandchildren, Jaiden, Isaiah Zeigler and Ezra Perry; his sister-in-law Darie Heck; his stepchildren, Linda Seay (Henry) of Mountain Home, AR, Peggy Irlmeier (Jim) of Glidden, Amy Wallace (Rich) of Carroll and Dan Clark (Monica) of Glidden; his grandchildren, Samantha Erickson-Viggers (John), Brad Douglas (Amanda), Brett Irlmeier (Deb), Melissa Nguyen (Tony), Jacob, Megan Wallace, Katie Augustus (Jon) and Abby Clark; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Allie Douglas, Kali Irlmeier, Tyler, Zachary Nguyen and Ayla Augustus; and his siblings, Hilda Crane (Don), Lucille Seyl (Victor), Harold Heck (Jessie) and Clarence Heck. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
