He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Strautman and Joetta Strautman (Clark); his former wife Joan Strautman; his brother Thomas Strautman; his parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Ann Irlmeier; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Irlmeier, Kenneth Irlmeier and Danny Meiners.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Pike (Terry) of Clive, Debbie Koster (Barry), Marissa Strautman of Minneapolis, MN and Michael Strautman (Brandi) of Carroll; his wife Carol Irlmeier of Scranton; his grandchildren, Lucy Pike, Charlie Pike, Cameron Koster and Ari Koster; his siblings, Jan Stoffel (Bill), Mary Jeffers, Patricia Strautman, Ellen Johnson (Larry), John Strautman (Kate) and Katie Kaiser (Kenny); and his siblings-in-law, JoAnn Beane (Dave), Donna Eischeid (Loren), Deb Hansen (Kyle), Connie Hoffman (Dave), Jan Andersen (Tim), Bruce Irlmeier (Anissa), Tom Irlmeier (Kim), Linda Croghan (Luke) and Brenda Croghan (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family members and good friends.
Jim made the final gift of tissue donation through the Iowa Donor Network that will help up to 50 people.
