She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Stender and Hilda Stender (Kuehl); and her husband James Stern. She is survived by: her children, Janice Elise of Iowa City and Kim James (Georgia) of Sioux Falls; her granddaughter Erika (Jason Reisdorfer); her great grandchildren, Rayna and Mallory Reisdorfer of Sioux Falls; her grandchild Alexa (Martin Maud); and her great grandchild Morgan Maud of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Schleswig.
