He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Schmidt and Annette Schmidt (Miller); his wives, Gail Schlosser and Gloria Conover of Holstein, Iowa.; his son Bill; his brother Kenneth; his son Fred (RJ); his granddaughters, Linda and Sarah; his son Bob (Carla); his granddaughter Krista (Justin); his great grandchildren, Audra, Austin and Addison; his granddaughter Anne (Brian); his great grandchildren, Will, Allie and Emily; and his son Don of Sioux Falls, SD..
He is survived by: his stepson Kevin Conover (Lana) of Holstein, IA; his stepgrandchildren, Cami and Cortney; his stepson Kim Conover (Denise) of Holstein, IA; his stepgrandchildren, Eric and Kyle; his daughter-in-law Cindy Dapra of Gillette, WY; and his sons, Luke and Zach.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (501 Glad St, Schleswig, IA 51461). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at the Morgan Township Cemetery.
