He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joe Verdoorn and Jessie Verdoorn (DeJager); his wife Lorine Bergsma; his children, Jan Verdoorn (Helen) of Sanborn, IA, Arlene Milbrodt (Arlin) of Dakota Dunes, SD and Marsha Southwick (Steve) of Ocheyedan, IA; his grandsons, Jim Verdoorn (Heather), Rob Verdoorn (Traci), Lee Verdoorn (Amanda), Craig Verdoorn (Susan) and Michael Dickey; and his siblings, William Verdoorn and Gertrude Vogelaar. He was also cherished by six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild (with one on the way); seven step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great grandchildren; one sister.
