He is survived by: his children, Karen Oostra (Kelvin) of Euless, TX, Janelle Rus (Howard) of Sioux Center, IA and Jay Hofland (Carla) of Sanborn, IA; his great grandchildren, Kyle Oostra (Stephanie), Weston, Tinley of Rock Rapids, IA, Kaitlyn Beazley (Austin), Hudson, Colton of McKinney, TX, Lincoln Rus of Cedar Grove, WI and Taylor (Noah) of Jong; his siblings, Alyda Muilenburg, Gary Hofland (Ellen), John Hofland (Joyce) and Arlyn Hofland (Glenda); his siblings-in-law, Sherry DeBoom, Conard DeBoom, Stan DeBoom (Wilma) and Kenneth Zevenbergen; and his close friend Marcia Van Gelder.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Hofland family prefers memorials be made to the Sanborn Christian School .
