Daniel Alons Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Alons (Sanborn, Iowa), who passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Alons and Maggie Alons (Holtrop); his wife Matilda Donkersloot; his grandson Calvin Geels; his son-in-law Allen Roder; his siblings, Gert Hofman (Maynard), John Alons (Marlene) and Lee Alons (Donna); his siblings-in-law, Jan Alons and Sid Vander Griend; and also, Ray Donkersloot (Alyda), Gertrude Donkersloot, Hank Donkersloot (Bernice), Gladys Elgersma (Earl) and Albert Donkersloot.
He is survived by: his children, Judi Van Duyn (Loren) of Liberty, MO, Ken Alons (Brenda) of Valley Springs, SD, Lois Postma (Larry) of Sioux Falls, SD, Myrna Breuker (Jerry) of Arnolds Park, IA and Norma Geels (Randy) of Sioux Center, IA; his siblings, Marie Vander Griend, Merle Alons (Rosa) and Roger Alons; and also, Marie Donkersloot and Marv Donkersloot (Luann). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Even through the entire Covid lockdown at Prairie View's Campus, Dan never complained or lost his positive attitude.
