He was predeceased by: his brother Greg Berg; his mother-in-law Peggy Hinrickson; his grandparents, Ervin, Goldie Berg (Henricksen), Eldon and Leola Keil (Mohr); his nephew Ashton Scott; his uncle Roger Keil; and his cousin Kolynn Keil.
He is survived by: his parent Lorin Berg (Phyllis) of Preston, Iowa; his wife Sylvia Berg of Salix, Iowa; his children, Kirstin Granatowicz (Austin) of Sioux City and Kody Berg (Taylor) of Salix, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brecken, Blakely, Lyla and Briar; his parent Rojean Scott (Dan) of Sergeant Bluff; his father-in-law Charles Hinrickson of Castana, Iowa; his siblings, Jeff Berg (Jill) of Sloan, Doug Scott (Deb) of Cedar Rapids, Chris Scott (Katie) of Sloan, Amy Ringler (Justin) of Grinnell and Staci Crawford (Kevin) of Onawa, Iowa; and his brothers-in-law, Scott Hinrickson (Donna) of Climbing Hill, Stanley Hinrickson (Brenda) of Smithland and Kent "Buzz" Hinrickson (Lisa) of Battle Creek, Iowa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Evangelical Covenant Church (306 Buckley St, Sloan, IA 51055). A prayer was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
