He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Rush and Rose Rush (Lussier); his wife Mildred Rush (Brubaker); his son Randy Rush; his brother Elliot Rush; and his son-in-law Wayne Trudeau.

He is survived by: his close friend Linda Hawkenson of Jefferson; his children, Gina Rush (Joe Bremer) of Onawa and Jackie Cole (David) of Sloan, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ryan Rush (Amber), Brandon Rush, Lacey Spaulding, Jesse Trudeau, Alea Cole (Zach Ulven), Lindsea Cole (Drew Brekke) and Bailea Cole (Brody Vanden Bosch); his great grandchildren, Roman Rush, Kassidy Simoni, River Rush, Chevelle Spaulding and Kodiak Spaulding; his siblings, Madelyn Jauron (Tom) of Cave Creek, Arizona and David Rush (Michele) of Ankeny, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Pat Rush of Sioux City, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
