He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Engelbarts and Bertha Engelbarts (Christ); his wife Irene; and his brothers, Elmer and Melvin.
He is survived by: his sons, Ron Engelbarts (Jill) of Lakota, Dennis Engelbarts of Lakota and Gary Engelbarts (Sara) of Urbandale, Iowa; his grandchildren, Mitch Engelbarts (Heidi), Ashley Risius (Greg), Haley Engelbarts, Wade Engelbarts, Leah Engelbarts (Matt Leuwerke), Ethan Engelbarts and Hunter Engelbarts; his great grandchildren, Tate, Brynlee Engelbarts, Skylar Leuwerke, Shaelynn and Grant Risius; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Goodrich and Beth Engelbarts.
