She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Abing and Martha Abing; her husbands, Harold Kalmes and Jukes Herrig; her daughter-in-law Rita Kalmes; her grandson Scott Sieverding; her great grandchild Brecken Woolsey; and her siblings, Gerald Abing, Cyril Abing, Leo Abing, Richard Abing and Berniece Kieler.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Kalmes of Richmond, VA, Darrell Kalmes (Diane) of Dubuque, Mary Jean Sieverding (Steve) of St. Donatus, Doug Kalmes (Crystal) of Carbon Cliff, IL, Greg Kalmes (Jeanie) of St. Donatus, Steve Kalmes (Dee) of Springville, IA, Beth Kaiser (Jeff) of Dubuque and Denise Kalmes of Dubuque; her great grandchildren, Irene Seng of Potosi, Luella Brandt of Kieler, Bettty Jungk (Jim) of Dubuque, Doris Hentrich (Bernard) of Hazel Green and Margaret Hentrich (Joe) of Belmont; her brother Irvin Abing (Katie) of Potosi; and her siblings-in-law, Lawrence Kalmes (Windy) of St. Donatus, Paulette Abing of Potosi, Bernadette Williams (Don) of Lancaster and Mariella Berthel of Dubuque.
