He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alphonse Roling (Alberta) and Alberta Roling (Welter); his wife Ruth Grobstick of Catherine's Catholic Church; his daughter Annette Kress (Ken) of Peosta, IA; his granddaughters, Katie Johnson (Shane) and Traci Jones (Ben); his son Andy Roling of Muscatine, IA; his grandchildren, Trent Roling (Alexis) and Reece Roling (Kaitlyn); his son Russ Roling (Carrie) of Albany, WI; his grandchildren, Heather Pritts (Chris), Jim Roling, Trisha Roling (Drew), Brittany Ray, Brie Rundall (Austin), Alex Nickels (Bethany), Tony Nickels (Jessi), Gracie Swenson (Dan) and Kiley Swenson; his daughter Peggy Tully (Ken) of Dubuque, IA; his grandchildren, Jena Gruber (Romain Benali), Michael Tully (Kate), Lucas Tully and Elizabeth Tully (Rifat Celik); his son Dean Roling of Milan, IL; his grandchildren, Sidney Roling (Payton) and Tyler Roling (Sasha); his siblings, Donnie Roling, Kenny Roling, LaVonne Bries (Don), Donna Vaske (Dan), Gary Roling (Patsy), Mary Deppe (Steve), Chuck Roling, Bob Roling, Patty Nelson (Mark), Kathy Deuthmann (Greg) and Lois Dietzel; and his in-laws, Elsie Doser-Welsch, Bill Grobstick, Coletta Tucker, Wilbur Grobstick (Coletta), Sharon Roling, Grace Roling, Dennis Dietzel, Joe Welsch, Linda Grobstick, Allan Tucker and Bud Doser. He was also cherished by 11 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a James H. Roling memorial fund will be established.
