Rolan Gibbons Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rolan Gibbons (Sac City, Iowa), who passed away on February 29, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maurice Gibbons and Anna Gibbons; his former wife Gwen Freeman; his children, Rick, Ron, Pat, Sherrie, Joann, Doug Gibbons (Evy) of Sioux Falls, SD, Steve Gibbons (Marian) and Jane Hartwell (Rod Severson); his grandchildren, Rick Olson (Sandy), Ron Olson, Sheree Heard, Pat Freeman (Diane), Travis Gibbons (Ellen), Tyler Gibbons (Melanie), Jamay Patten (Kyle), Chet Hartwell (Cassie), Jennifer Novak (Nick), Stephanie Schnicker (Nick), Rock Olson, Manda Parry (Matt), Matt Olson (Hannah), Jami Crosby (Kevin), Ryan Heard (Katie), Jacob Heard, Jason Heard, Katie Freeman (Karrie) and Tim Paul (Janice); his great grandchildren, Edie Gibbons, Lauren, Liam Patten, Braxton, Bryant Hartwell, Riley, Reece, Ryder Parry, Ezra, Imogen Olson, Kaitlyn Crosby, Christopher and Sophie Paul; his brother Richard "Dick" Gibbons; his wife Betty Gibbons; his sister Joyce Miller; and his son-in-law Stan Hartwell (Gwen). He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been set up in Gib's name.
