He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kelchen and Florence Kelchen (Leigh); his son Thomas Anthony; his son-in-law John Thomsen; his great grandchild Tanner Sofield; his siblings, Ernie, Grace, Verna, Lloyd, Jerry, LeRoy, Leon and Gene; his siblings-in-law, Cletus Burkle, John Schwendinger, Marianna Kelchen, Irma Kelchen and Dixie Kelchen; and his sister Mary Ann Helle.
He is survived by: his significant other Pearl; and his children, Ernest Kelchen (Marianna), Elsie Altoff (Emil), Grace Burkle (Cletus), Verna Kelchen, Lloyd Kelchen (Rosanne), Gerald Kelchen (Norma), LeRoy Kelchen (Rosalyn), Leon Kelchen (Dixie) and Eugene Kelchen (Mary). He is also survived by seven children blessed them with 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are required at the funeral home and church.
