It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ambrose Hellmann of Ryan, Iowa, born in Holy Cross, Iowa, who passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Hellmann and Ottillia Hellmann (Loecke); his parents-in-law, Herman and Marie Schwers (Foxen); his son-in-law Larry Benge, Jr.; his sister Germaine Langel; and his brothers-in-law, John Langel, Charles Thole and Ralph Recker.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Hellmann of Ryan; his children, Marilyn Benge of Shueyville, Sharon Fuhrman (John) of Puyallup, Ruth Elsbury (Jerry) of Strawberry Point, Janet Krogmann of Manchester, Arlene Wulfekuhle (Ron) of Ryan, Shirley Manternach (Dale) of Manchester and Bob Hellmann of Ryan; his grandchildren, Matt, Katie, Laura, Amy, Kevin, Tim, Sara, Jeff, Kari, Lisa, Justin, Jeni, Stacy, Kyla, Mitch, Brett, Tyler, Jenna, Josh, Hailey and Erin; and his siblings, Cletus Hellmann (Correne) of Ryan, Charles Hellmann (Mary) of Holy Cross, Berniece Thole of Dyersville, Dolores Putz (Dave) of Greeley and Eileen Prier (Ed) of Dyersville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
