In the vast expanse of eternity, Karen Jean shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Karen Jean farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her mother Johanna Hinrichs (Thompson); her husband Roger Smith; and her siblings, Robert Hinrichs and Joyce Davis. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Shelby Smith, Kyle Smith, Tyler Dupont (Audrey Dempewolf) and Andrew Dupont (Abigail Santana).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Keystones of Cedar Rapids for their garden fund or Nora Springs Care Center for their garden fund.
