With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Joy Roberts of Rolfe, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Mary Joy left this world on January 19, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard A. Mackie and Mabel E. Mackie (Kemp); her husband Harrison Roberts of Rolfe, Iowa.; her son Curtis; her grandson Jeffrey; her great grandchild Owen; her brothers, Roger (Harriet) and Jerry; her brother-in-law Ronny Walstead; and her sister Lona Lee (John Hoefing).
She is survived by: her children, Dean Roberts (Debbie) of Pocahontas, Joan Groves (Bryan) of Paola and Nancy Wittrock of Fort Dodge; her siblings, Anne Walstead of Laurens and Gene Mackie of Cedar Falls; and her sister-in-law Leritta Mackie of Boone. She is also survived by five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Pocahontas (502 4th Ave NE, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery.
