She was predeceased by: her parents, Orval Heathman and Donna Heathman (Nielsen); her brother Denny Heathman; and her siblings-in-law, Annella Fritz, Jerry Fritz and Roger VanGorkom.

She is survived by: her husband Donald VanGorkom of Rolfe; her children, Michelle Simpson (Aaron) of Chanhassen, MN and Dave (Danelle) of Algona; her grandchildren, Reese, Maya, Sophie Mireau, Dainen, Drew, Dionna and Danica VanGorkom; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Heathman and Peggy VanGorkom.
