It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Darlene Martens (Roland, Iowa), born in Nevada, Iowa, who passed away on March 19, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert M. Gibbs and Genevieve V. Gibbs (Campbell); her husband Lars; her brothers, Robert Gibbs and Michael Gibbs; and her cousin Joan Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Cheri Myers (Kenneth) of Roland, Karen Jamison (David) of Ames, Alan Martens (Glenda) of Des Moines and Steven Martens; her grandchildren, Amy Risdal (Michael) of Roland, Sara Hoff (James) of Roland, Matthew Martens (Heather) of Guthrie Center, Kelli Martin (Robert) of Ames, Lauren Schalinske (Nicholas) of Ames and Samuel Jamison (Jenna) of Story City; her great grandchildren, Tyler, Lucas Risdal, Payton Carroll, Kendal, Jantzen Hoff, Mariah, Ryan, Emma Martens and Violet Schalinske; and her siblings, Catherine Johnson of Story City, Richard Gibbs of Dana Point, CA and Donald Gibbs of Des Moines. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Patricia's name may be directed to Bergen Lutheran Church, the Roland Library, or the Roland-Story Elementary RIF program.
