He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Callahan and Eva Callahan (Piersol); his daughter Helen Ann; his stepmother Meta; his parents-in-law, Sherman and Beatrice Swenson; and his sister Emma Jeppeson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Mae Callahan (Swenson); his children, Debra Kathryn, James Edward, Deb Mills (Jeremy Theis) of Brooklyn and Jim Callahan (Sandy) of Rockwell; his grandchildren, Justin Armatis (Kristi) of Ankeny, Jill Watters (DeWayne) of Seymour, Dustin Harms (Rachel) of Forest City and Jordan Callahan of Rockwell; and his great grandchildren, Natalee, Nyah Watters, Meleena, Charlee Armatis and Clark Edward Harms. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
