He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Nelson and Madeline Nelson (Yarrow). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Nelson (Carlsgaard) of Rockwell; his sons, Chris Nelson (Darla) of Hampton and Craig Nelson of Rockwell; his grandchildren, Timothy Brown, Nicholas Nelson, Madeline Nelson (Austin Mitchell), Benjamin Nelson (Kendrick Scott), Darin Nelson, Jasmine West Nelson and Dylan Robbins; his sisters, Lynette Martin (Lynn), Carol Cole (John), Shelia Muller (Jim), Jody Kelly (Tom) and Lisa Nelson (Jim); and his pets, Houlka and Jesse.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (502 2nd St S, Rockwell, IA 50469). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
